Everything I Need by Kutless

I've been away from my blogs for quite a while. I've been struggling through some things. This song is so powerful, and really resonates with me, so I wanted to share.

Everything I Need by Kutless

When every step is so hard to take
And all of my hope is fading away
When life is a mountain that I can not climb
You carry me, Jesus carry me.

[Chorus]
You Are strength in my weakness
You are the refuge I seek
You are everything in my time of need
You are everything, You are everything I need

When every moment is more than I can take
And all of my strength is slipping away
When every breath gets harder me
You carry me, Jesus carry me

[Chorus]

I need You
You are everything I need
I love everything about You

[Chorus]

Whom Shall I Fear by Chris Tomlin

I absolutely love this song! It really touches my heart, and fires me up. "The God of Angel Armies is always by my side." Wow! What a powerful image this invokes. Our God is one with incredible resources, and He surrounds us with powerful and plentiful strength.

In 2 Kings, Elisha and his servant are up against an enemy king's huge military force.
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:15-17).
Elisha's servant got a glimpse of God's Angel Armies. What a sight!

God is our ever-present defender, our refuge in time of need. He is all-knowing. He loves us unconditionally, and He is in control. So, whatever trial or challenge you face, take heart... the God of Angel Armies is always by your side!

Whom Shall I Fear by Chris Tomlin

You hear me when I call
You are my morning song
Though darkness fills the night
It cannot hide the light

Whom shall I fear

You crush the enemy
Underneath my feet
You are my sword and shield
Though troubles linger still

Whom shall I fear

[Chorus]
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

My strength is in Your name
For You alone can save
You will deliver me
Yours is the victory

Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear

[Chorus]

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises

You are faithful
You are faithful

And nothing formed against me shall stand
You hold the whole world in Your hands
I'm holding on to Your promises

You are faithful
You are faithful
You are faithful

[Chorus] (repeat)

The God of angel armies
Is always by my side

Overcomer by Mandisa

So, I had my first round of Botox today for my chronic migraines, and this was one of the songs that played during the treatment was. It truly blessed me today, and I wanted to share it here.

This song is a beautiful reminder that God has already overcome and won the battle on our behalf... all we have to do is to "just hold tight, fix your eyes on the one who holds your life [because] there's nothing He can't do."

Overcomer by Mandisa

Staring at a stop sign
Watching people drive by
Got so much on your mind
Nothing's really going right
Looking for a ray of hope

Whatever it is you may be going through
I know He's not gonna let it get the best of you

[Chorus]
You're an overcomer
Stay in the fight ‘til the final round
You're not going under
‘Cause God is holding you right now
You might be down for a moment
Feeling like it's hopeless
That's when He reminds You
That you're an overcomer
You're an overcomer

Everybody's been down
Hit the bottom, hit the ground
Oh, you're not alone
Just take a breath, don't forget
Hang on to His promises
He wants You to know

[chorus]

The same Man, the Great I am
The one who overcame death
Is living inside of You
So just hold tight, fix your eyes
On the one who holds your life
There's nothing He can't do
He's telling You

[chorus]

Beauty From Pain by Superchick

I haven't heard this song in quite some time, but I randomly started singing it a couple nights ago. It just resonated so much with me - I listened to it three or four times in a row. It's a somewhat dark song, I suppose; but I find it beautiful. It's raw and honest, yet offers hope that "there will be a dawn," and "there'll be beauty from pain."

Beauty From Pain by Superchick

The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
And then the darkness surrounds me
I know I'm alive but I feel like I've died
And all that's left is to accept that it's over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I'm slipping away

[Chorus]
After all this has passed, I still will remain
After I've cried my last, there'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today, someday I'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

My whole world is the pain inside me
The best I can do is just get through the day
When life before is only a memory
I'll wonder why God lets me walk through this place
And though I can't understand why this happened
I know that I will when I look back someday
And see how you've brought beauty from ashes
And made me as gold purified through these flames

[Chorus]

Here I am at the end of me (at the end of me)
Tryin' to hold to what I can't see (to what I can't see)
I forgot how to hope
This night's been so long
I cling to Your promise
There will be a dawn

[Chorus]

Forgiveness by Matthew West

What an amazingly beautiful song this is! Forgiveness can be such a difficult thing to do - forgiveness of ourselves and others. But, our God has already forgiven us, and it is by His grace that we can forgive others.
"Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you" (Colossians 3:12-13)

Forgiveness by Matthew West

It's the hardest thing to give away
And the last thing on your mind today
It always goes to those that don't deserve

It's the opposite of how you feel
When the pain they caused is just too real
It takes everything you have to say the word...

Forgiveness
Forgiveness

It flies in the face of all your pride
It moves away the mad inside
It's always anger's own worst enemy
Even when the jury and the judge
Say you gotta right to hold a grudge
It's the whisper in your ear saying 'set it free'

Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness, Forgiveness

Show me how to love the unlovable
Show me how to reach the unreachable
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness

It'll clear the bitterness away
It can even set a prisoner free
There is no end to what its power can do
So let it go and be amazed
By what you see through eyes of grace
The prisoner that it really frees is you

Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness, Forgiveness

Show me how to love the unlovable
Show me how to reach the unreachable
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness

I want to finally set it free
So show me how to see what Your mercy sees
Help me now to give what You gave to me
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness

Beautiful to Me by Kerrie Roberts (Easter Sunday)

Today is Easter Sunday. A day of celebration. Jesus' death on the cross revealed the depth and the magnitude of His love for us. His resurrection of Easter morning reveals His mighty power. There is nothing that can separate us from our Father's love.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)
Christ loved us so much that He sent His son to die, so that we could have eternal hope! Hallelujah, Christ is risen! Thanks be to God!
"The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay" (Matthew 38:5-6)
Blessings on this glorious Easter Sunday!

Beautiful to Me by Kerrie Roberts

So much I don't understand
That I’d change if I wrote the story
How pain can heal and death bring life
How defeat can bring such glory
You didn't hold back one breath
You even gave Your last one
So I’d live

[Chorus]
It's beautiful to me
Your holy mystery
I'm standing here in awe
Of how you make everything
So beautiful to me
Someday I will see
How You hold this wounded heart
And make it perfect and complete
And it's beautiful to me
Beautiful

I don't deserve Your suffering
I should be the one who's bleeding
But Your broken body gives
This broken spirit what it's needing
You reach through time with Your sacrifice
Your wounded hands holding this fragile life

[Chorus]

This ache, this longing
This heart that I've been searching
In this moment while I'm breaking
Show me
Your plan, Your promise
A pain that has a purpose
I let you in to use it

And just like Your hands built heaven’s hall
You’re making me so beautiful

[Chorus]
Beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful to me
Beautiful to me

The Wonderful Cross by Chris Tomlin (Good Friday)

Today is Good Friday, the day that Christians commemorate the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ at Calvary. It is a day often filled with fasting, prayer, repentance, and meditation on the agony and suffering of Christ on the cross. The biblical account of His crucifixion, His burial, and His resurrection are found in the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) - Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

The hours from noon to 3pm are often observed on Good Friday with a period of silence because it was during these last three hours of Jesus' suffering that darkness fell over the land. There was an earthquake, tombs broke open, and the curtain in the temple was torn from top to bottom - "Truly this was the Son of God" (Matthew 27:45-54).

  • Forgiveness:  "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34)
  • Salvation:  "Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43)
  • Relationship:  "Woman, behold thy son! Behold thy mother!" (John 19:26-27)
  • Abandonment:  "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34)
  • Distress:  "I thirst" (John 19:28)
  • Triumph:  "It is finished" (John 19:30)
  • Reunion:  "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit" (Luke 23:46)
I hope everyone has a blessed Good Friday.

The Wonderful Cross by Chris Tomlin

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

[Chorus]
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless
Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all

[Chorus] (repeat)

It's the glory and the pain
Wonderful cross

[Chorus] (repeat)

Our Hope Endures by Natalie Grant

I ran across this song the other day. I'd never heard it before, but it resonated with me.

"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified" (Romans 8:24-28).

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1).

"There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off" (Proverbs 23:18).

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him" (Psalm 28:7).

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'" (Jeremiah 29:11).

"Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging" (Psalm 46:2-3).

"Praise to God for a Living Hope
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls" (1 Peter 1:3-9).

"Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold" (2 Corinthians 3:12).

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12).

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).

"God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf" (Hebrews 6:18-21).

Our Hope Endures by Natalie Grant

You would think only so much can go wrong
Calamity only strikes once
And you assume this one has suffered her share
Life will be kinder from here
Oh, but sometimes the sun stays hidden for years
Sometimes the sky rains night after night
When will it clear?

[Chorus]
But our Hope endures the worst of conditions
It's more than our optimism
Let the earth quake
Our Hope is unchanged

How do we comprehend peace within pain?
Or joy at a good man's wake?
Walk a mile with the woman whose body is torn
With illness but she marches on
Oh, 'cause sometimes the sun stays hidden for years
Sometimes the sky rains night after night
When will it clear?

[Chorus]

Emmanuel, God is with us
El Shaddai, all sufficient (repeat)
We never walk alone
And this is our hope

But our Hope endures the worst of conditions
It's more than our optimism
Let the earth quake
Our Hope is unchanged

Everything I Need by Kutless

This song has been on my heart lately (I've been hearing it quite often during the little bit of time I listen to the radio). It's so beautiful... and so true. I'm so grateful to have a loving Father that will carry me through, when I can't carry myself. Sometimes knowing that is what gets me through each moment.

Everything I Need by Kutless

When every step is so hard to take
And all of my hope is fading away
When life is a mountain that I can not climb
You carry me, Jesus carry me.

[Chorus]
You are strength in my weakness
You are the refuge I seek
You are everything in my time of need
You are everything, You are everything I need

When every moment is more than I can take
And all of my strength is slipping away
When every breath gets harder me
You carry me, Jesus carry me

[Chorus]

I need You
You are everything I need
I love everything about You

[Chorus]

Where's the Line to See Jesus by Becky Kelley

This song is simply AMAZING! I'll just let it speak for itself...

Where's the Line to See Jesus by Becky Kelley

Christmas time was approaching; the snow was starting to fall,
Shoppers choosing their presents, people filling the mall,
Children waiting for Santa with excitement and glee,
A little boy tugged my sweater, looked up and asked me,

Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don't we see Him more?

As I stood in amazement at this message profound,
I looked down to thank him, he was nowhere around.
The little boy at the mall might as well have had wings
As the tears filled my eyes, I thought I heard him say,

Chorus:
Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday,
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me.
Santa Claus brought me presents,
But Christ gave His life for me.

In the blink of an eye, at the sound of His trump,
We'll all stand in line at His throne.
Every knee shall bow down, every tongue will confess,
That Jesus Christ is Lord.

[Chorus]

Love Comes Down by Kerrie Roberts

I just thought I'd share a devotional that a friend had passed along to me a while ago... but, I think it's a good reminder for us all. I'm also sharing a song that I really enjoy, too.

Contentment
By Max Lucado

I have learned to be satisfied
with the things I have and with
everything that happens.

    ~ Philippians 4:11

What if God’s only gift to you were his grace to save you? Would you be content? You beg him to save the life of your child. You plead with him to keep your business afloat. You implore him to remove the cancer from your body. What if his answer is, “My grace is enough.” Would you be content?

From heaven’s perspective, grace is enough. If God did nothing more than save us from hell, could anyone complain?

Having been given eternal life, dare we grumble at an aching body? Having been given heavenly riches, dare we moan about what we don’t have?

Love Comes Down by Kerrie Roberts

Weak and weary sinner
Longing for relief
You've been watching
As disaster steals another piece
Of all that you held so close
What you love the most
But you can never keep
And hope seems like a promise
Just out of reach
You'd die to feel alive again
You long to be set free

Chorus:
Then love comes down
When your heart is lost
When you've seen your whole world shattered
And your dreams just fall apart
So lift up your voice
Let Him hear your cry
When you've got nothing left to hold onto
That's when love comes down
Love comes down

If you could only know who loves you
Who feels your every pain
If you could only hear Him speaking
With the voice as sweet as rain
You'd know that He counts your tears
He holds them near
Not one will go to waste
And the sorrow that weighs you down
Will float away

[Chorus]

That's when love is stronger
Than any heartbreak
And you know every broken piece
Will be made whole

[Chorus]

When you've got nothing left to hold onto
That's when love comes down

Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

I heard this song the other day, and it really moved me. It's a very powerful song and video. I've heard/read that this is a very personal song about her own struggles, but I think the message is great for everyone that is in a dark place in their life. There is still hope, and you can battle through and rise higher than ever... "like a skyscraper."

In the video, she's barefoot, making her way through a barren desert. I think the imagery is right on. In the midst of dark times, it can often feel like we're alone... trying to make our way through a barren land. But, we can make our way through it, and rise to new heights. I think skyscrapers are truly marvelous...

It is through the resurrecting fire of the Holy Spirit that God takes the ashes of our lives and creates beauty. As I walk through difficult times, I pray:
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me (Psalm 51:10-12).

Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

Skies are crying, I am watching
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence, as it's ending
Like we never had a chance

Do you have to make me feel like
There's nothing left of me?

[Chorus]
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

As the smoke clears, I awaken
and untangle you from me
Would it make you, feel better
to watch me while I bleed?

All my windows still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

[Chorus]

Go run, run, run
I'm gonna stay right here, watch you disappear
Yea--ohh
Go run, run, run
Yeah, it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

[Chorus]

Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

Glass by Ross Copperman

I randomly came across this song, and it's great.
We may shine, we may shatter...We are fragile, we are human...We are shaped by the light we let through us
I think that the "light we let through us" truly does shape us. As Christians, we are called to share Jesus' love with others. Jesus tells us that “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). Allowing His light to shine through in everything we do is how we can spread His love.

It can be difficult to let others in, letting them see who you really are. But we all are fragile and imperfect. We should try not to judge one another, as we all bear our own burdens.
I'll let you look inside me... Through the stains and through the cracks... But try not to judge me... 'Cause we've walked down different paths

http://youtu.be/IFu8AYgRsog

Glass by Ross Copperman

Tryin' to live and love
With a heart that can't be broken
Is like tryin' to see the light
With eyes that can't be opened

Yea, we both carry baggage
We picked up on our way
So if you love me, do it gently
And I will do the same.

[Chorus]
We may shine, we may shatter
We may be pickin' up the pieces here on after
We are fragile, we are human
We are shaped by the light we let through us
But we break fast 'cause we are glass
'Cause we are glass

I'll let you look inside me
Through the stains and through the cracks
And in the darkness of this moment
You see the good and bad

But try not to judge me
'Cause we've walked down different paths
But it brought us here together
So I won't take that back

[Chorus]

We might be oil in water
This could be a big mistake
We might burn like gasoline and fire
It's a chance we'll have to take

[Chorus]

He Will Carry Me by Mark Schultz

My heart is aching. A dear friend of mine lost his son, only moments after he was born. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and emptiness of losing a child. And, yet, I mourn for the loss of a soul I never knew.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4)

I know that there are no words that can fill the void, but I hope they know that they are in my thoughts and prayers. I cannot know the pain they're experiencing, but I will be there for them any way that I can.

Lord, please comfort and keep this family, in this time of great sorrow. Wrap your loving arms around them, and let them know that you are with them... you, too, lost your son... you know what they need, and I ask that you provide for them. I pray all of this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thought That Counts

Often in times of trouble
we don't know what to say,
So we choose to say nothing,
and sometimes run away.

When friends are really hurting,
we don't know what to do,
So we offer weak excuses
or say we're hurting too.

It really doesn't matter
what kind of gift we bring;
We only need to be there
if we don't bring a thing.

It truly is amazing
what a hug can do,
When heartache numbs the senses,
and friends depend on you.

There's comfort just in knowing
that you are not alone,
When tears are overflowing,
and hearts are cold as stone.

It's the loving prayers of others
that balance our accounts,
For when we measure love,
it's still the thought that counts.

~ Clay Harrison
I Remember You

The world may never notice
If a rosebud doesn't bloom
Or even pause to wonder
if the petals fall too soon.

But every life that ever forms,
Or ever comes to be
Touches the World in some small way
For all eternity.

The little ones we longed for
Were swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.

And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do
Every beating of my heart says
"I Remember You"

He Will Carry Me by Mark Schultz

I call, You hear me
I've lost it all
And it's more than I can bear
I feel so empty

You're strong, I'm weary
I'm holding on
But I feel like giving in
But still You're with me

[Chorus]
And even though I'm walking
Through the valley of the shadow
I will hold tight to the hand of Him
Whose love will comfort me
And when all hope is gone
And I've been wounded in the battle
He is all the strength that I will ever need
He will carry me

I know I'm broken
But You alone
Can mend this heart of mine
You're always with me

[Chorus]
He will carry me

And even though I feel so lonely
Like I have never been before
You never said it would be easy
But You said You'd see me through the storm

[Chorus]
He will carry me
He will carry me

Lift Me Up by The Afters

This song is so uplifting. I'm not good with waiting, but I'm grateful to have a God that loves me and lifts me up. It's hard to let go, but that's what we're called to do... to let go of our worries, doubts, fears, etc... What an amazing Lord we have to carry us and love us unconditionally! I hope that this song touches you, as it did me.

Lift Me Up by The Afters

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

Waiting for the sunrise
Waiting for the day
Waiting for a sign
That I’m where you want me to be

You know my heart is heavy
And the hurt is deep
But when I feel like giving up
You’re reminding me
That we all fall down sometimes
But when I hit the ground

[Chorus]
You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go
You lift me up when I can’t see
Your heart is all that I need
Your love carries me so I’m letting go

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

I know I’m not perfect
I know I make mistakes
I know that I have let you down
But you love me the same

And when I’m surrounded
When I lose my way
When I’m crying out and falling down
You are here to

Lift me up when I am weak
[Chorus]

I can see the dawn is breaking
I am feeling overtaken with your love
With your love
I don’t know what I can offer
In this moment I surrender to your love
To your love

You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go

[Chorus]

I can see the dawn is breaking
I am feeling overtaken with your love

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

Shadowfeet by Brooke Fraser

I've heard this song many times before, but it really touched me tonight.

This world is a shadow land, and the more real land/life lays beyond. We live in the shadow land... but the Christian perspective is eternal, and life with God is the more real land... where we put our faith and hope, and find meaning. It is in God that "I'll be found in you, still standing" for eternity.

Lord, please help me remember that this life is a gift, but to keep my eyes on You.

Shadowfeet by Brooke Fraser

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Toward home, a land that I've never seen
I am changing
Less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
And I have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day

[Chorus]
When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

There's distraction buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
But I've heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way

[Chorus]

You make all things new (repeat)

[Chorus]

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Heal The Wound by Point of Grace

This song is so beautiful. I came across the song from a friend's blog, and it touched my heart.

We all have wounds in our hearts... from sin in our lives, or painful things that happen along the journey. Regardless of what the wound is from, it's important that we have a scar to remind us of what God taught us through the pain. Our scars should lead us to praise God for His love and mercy, and remind us that there is beauty in suffering. We should ask God to use our scars to reach out and encourage others, whose wounds are fresh. Don't be afraid to let your scars show.

Lord, I pray that for each wound you heal in my life, you leave a scar... to remind me of your mercy and love. Use them to bring me to my knees in awe of your mercy, and to remind me to have compassion for others.

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

Heal the Wound by Point of Grace

I used to wish that I could rewrite history
I used to dream that each mistake could be erased
Then I could just pretend
I never knew the me back then

I used to pray that You would take this shame away
Hide all the evidence of who I've been
But it's the memory of
The place You brought me from
That keeps me on my knees
And even though I'm free

[Chorus]
Heal the wound but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful You are
I am broken, torn apart
Take the pieces of this heart
And heal the wound but leave the scar

I have not lived a life that boasts of anything
I don't take pride in what I bring
But I'll build an altar with
The rubble that You've found me in

And every stone will sing
Of what You can redeem

[Chorus]

Don't let me forget
Everything You've done for me
Don't let me forget
The beauty in the suffering

[Chorus]

Wait and See by Brandon Heath

I've always loved this song, but it can be difficult for me to really listen to. I know deep in my heart that God has great plans for me, but it can be very hard to see or remember that in the midst of so much pain.

I've always had trouble waiting. I'm not a very patient person, when it comes to plans and my future. But, all of this is teaching (sort of forcing) me to wait - it's forcing me to wait, but it's teaching me to wait more patiently and trust in God's timing. Like the last verse of this song, my prayer is:
GOD, teach me to trust You
Teach me to follow You
Teach me about You
GOD, bless us
GOD, lead us

Wait And See by Brandon Heath

I was born in Tennessee, late July humidity,
Doctors said I was lucky to be alive
I've been troubled since the day that I got here,
Troubled to the day I disappear
That'll be the day that I finally get it right

Chorus:
There is hope, for me yet,
Because God won't forget,
All the plans HE's made for me
I have to wait and see,
HE's not finished with me yet,
HE's not finished with me yet

I never really was that good in school;
Talked too much, broke the rules
My teachers thought I was a hopeless fool, all right.
I don't know how but I made it through,
It's one of those things you gotta do
I always had a knack for telling the truth.

[Chorus]

Still wonderin' why I'm here.
Still wrestling with my fear

But oh... HE's up to something,
And the farther out I go,
I've seen enough to know
That I'm not here for nothin'...
He's up to somethin'.

So now's my time to be a man,
Follow my heart as far as I can
No tellin' where I'm ending up tonight
I never slow down (or so it seems),
But singing my heart is one of my dreams
All I gotta do is hold on tight.

[Chorus]
HE's not finished with me yet,
HE's not finished with me yet

GOD, teach me to trust You
Teach me to follow You
Teach me about You
GOD, bless us
GOD, lead us
